Pencil drawing on chalk grounded cloth and paper appliqués, 150x200cm fantastic-realism : is a technique invented by the Vienna School of Fantastic-Realism in Austria in 1946 which includes Ernst Fuchs, Rudolph Hausner, Wolfgang Hutter and Fritz Janschka. They used the old realist techniques of the masters combined with religious and esoteric symbolism in order to describe the fantastic and unreal world. Although initially called themselves surrealists, many of the surrealists criticized it.
